Join us for a 2-day gathering in Goa where we will seek to:
-
Explore questions around community building and collective nurturing in times of violence,
-
Experiment with tools towards building transformative justice practices in our contexts, and
-
Envision abolitionist futures through play and creative work.
Inspired and deeply informed by practices shared by indigenous and marginalised communities globally, Alternative Justice is holding this gathering as a way to support our communities to reclaim physical spaces, rebuild our relationships with each other and reinforce our resistance and movement spaces. In the face of rising global fascism, ongoing genocide, communal violence, and threats to the safety of marginalised groups, we will collectively explore and journey towards building more resilient abolitionist communities.
What can we do to rebuild safety for ourselves as a porous community?
How can we build the conditions we need to imagine a thriving life in an unsafe world?
How can we resolve conflict better amongst ourselves, interpersonally and in our movements?
What does a queer-centered abolitionist feminist praxis of being in this world look like?
Join us to explore these questions, create space to foster intentional solidarities and work towards enabling greater access for queer individuals, especially trans folks, as we navigate this changing world together.
We will gather in a nurturing space in Porvorim, Goa, on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December from 10am - 6pm, with an optional meet up on Friday 8th December evening.
To express your interest in attending, please fill out the registration form by 2pm IST on Monday 20 November 2023. Folks from oppressed communities and marginalised identities are specifically encouraged to apply. If you have any questions, feel free to email us on alternativejusticein@gmail.com
